Myrtle beach

We just went to the beach last weekend. We had so much fun, but I am ready for a couples trip. Kaely stayed back a day and we missed her so much. I don't thinking will do that again.

Shay and I just spent mothers day weekend in Alabama working on tornado relief with our stake. It was amazing to see the power of a group united. We got to work on yards with 8-10 huge trees fallen and had them cleared within hours. One man said the quote from the tree service was 27 k dollars. I am sore all over, miss my kids like crazy, but I feel good knowing I did the Lords work in serving.

The Atlanta temple open house

We all went to the Atlanta temple open house this week for Andreas birthday. It was so nice to be together as a family in the Celestial room. I love the temple and I am so glad it is opening again. Shay and I were able to work as ushers on Friday when the big storm hit with hail and tornados. We were drenched and happy for the chance to serve. It made it very memorable.

Clean the house, No Way

This week the kids are on spring break. I am normally the clean house Nazi and spend all my time yelling at the kids to clean or cleaning myself. Not this week, I told myself I would do stuff with the kids instead. We have done science experiments, had a room party, had a studio movie grill in the kitchen, read to each of them from the friend or new era, gone to the freaky mouse house( chuckee cheese), and more and I still went to school two days this week. My house is such a wreck that Shay started cleaning without being asked. But we have had so much fun. I think they have noticed. On our way to play some basketball.

What if

Anytime I go away, I always think about what ifs. What if I don't come back. What will my kids remember? Was I good enough to them or did I give them enough attention?
I start missing them before I even leave and it makes me sad to go. Although I wonder if I never left would I realize how much they mean to me?
So I will enjoy the perspective leaving gives me and have a wonderful time on my cruise with the knowledge that for every moment away the kids make me pay double when I get back.

My Valentines Day Note

I received a note yesterday. It was from Janers. She had wanted to eat frosted flakes 10 min before dinner and I told her no snacks, especially since her and her twin sister hadn't eaten their dinner the night before because of too many snacks. She stormed off. I say that because it literally felt like a storm. She screamed, stomped, threw things and ran off to her room leaving a trail of destruction along the way. When I went up to get her for dinner, I had a note waiting.
I rn aw bs I hat Mom
Translation: I ran away because I hate Mom.
Her door was locked and when I opened it I found her passed out on her bed. Were my feelings hurt? Not really. That may sound callous, but I had no guilt. If I had done something that was unfair maybe I would feel bad. She woke up and apoligized with tears and told me she loves me. I told her I loved her too. So although my note wasn't loving, the gushing afterwards was.
And you can bet I am keeping that note. I just think it is funny.
